What Are PDO Threads?
PDO threads are made up of a material called Polydioxanone, which is an absorbable polymer that is flexible and durable. The Matrix PDO threads work by triggering fibroblasts, which induce collagen production, creating a tightening effect that can last 6-12 months.
PDO threads are a type of single thread filament. These threads are smooth and made without barbs which a minimally invasive. The threads are inserted into the skin. After entering the skin, the threads activate collagen synthesis for a gradual skin tightening and skin rejuvenating effect. Whilst they tighten the skin, they do not significantly lift the skin
These threads are smooth and versatile, as they can be safely placed in most areas of the face and body. These skin tightening treatments can be used to rejuvenate collagen treating neck sagging, forehead lines and facial wrinkles.

How do PDO threads work to tighten?
Is the treatment painful?
Before treatment a topical anaesthetic is applied and generally, the treatment is comfortable. Obviously, pain varies from individual to individual. We also do have the option to provide local anaesthetic if required.
When will you see the results?
You will begin to see results immediately but most visible in 6 weeks and continues to improve over the next 2- 6 months as new collagen is produced. Although the threads dissolve you will continue to see results for up to 6-12 months.
